Blanket Creek Pottery is run by Paul Borian and Yael Neeman-Borian,
a married couple who work together from their pottery studio in the countryside of Kentucky.
Paul learned the craft during a two-year apprenticeship, and in 2001 established his own business from the ground up, one wheel-thrown pot at a time.
It remained a one-person studio until he met his wife, Yael, in 2014.

I absolutely love my mug!! It's huge with a good hefty feel to it. The glazing is gorgeous and rustic. Somehow it makes everything taste better!! So far I've used it for tea, soup, Greek yogurt with berries, and ice cream. Even my husband commented on what a beautiful mug it is. I'm buying more of these mugs as well as some other pieces. It's more beautiful than you could possibly imagine. Neither pictures nor words can do justice for this work of art. If I had a plain white vanity, this soap dish would easily be the focal point of the entire bathroom! From a practical side, it holds a lot more soap than expected.
THE PERFECT MUG DOES EXIST, AND THIS IS IT. I cannot describe how much I look forward to using this little mug for my daily morning coffee. Sometimes it's the little things in life that spruce up a mundane routine. The colors are so vibrant, and the mug feels sturdy. Because it's a bit thick, the cup isn't too hot to touch -- which is awesome. I would highly recommend purchasing from this shop! I already bought another one of these mugs in a different color in less than a week. :)

This is my second spoon rest from Blanket Creek Pottery. I bought the same red one about 10 years ago when we drove through KY and it’s held up well, but after 10 years of use it finally cracked and broke. I glued it back together but wasn’t sure if it would hold so I searched online and found the same one. The red was sold out, but I got the blue mint green one and it is beautiful. I think I like it better than the red one. It’s definitely a beautiful and practical piece of pottery that I’m sure will last as long (or longer) as the last one.
Wow these mugs were everything I anticipated they would be! The colors are gorgeous and the mugs are elegant yet sturdy. I could see that these items were made with care and love ❤️ These mugs will be my go-to drinking vessels for EVERYTHING! I'm in love with my new mug! The colors and technique are so stunning. The mug is the perfect size for my hands! This is my favorite mug shape, which is a difficult shape to find normally. As it happens, I had a clumsy moment recently and shattered one of my “old” ceramic spoon rests, so used the opportunity to purchase one from this shop. This spoon rests is gorgeous, 10/10, no notes; 11/10 shipping (very fast and very well-packed); will absolutely buy from this shop again… this time, without breaking anything first. 😅
